Eugene, Oregon, July 25'th, 19~1.: Council meet p~lrsuant ~o adjournment of July llth, 1921 and was called to order by Hayer o.o,Pet~rson. Present councilmen Parks, Willoughby, }~osher, Kaldor and Quimby. ~ · Councilman O,l{.Kaldor presented his w~itten resignation as Co~mellman of the 3rd ward in' the City of .Eugene,O~egon to take affect immediately. Upon motion the reslL~na~ton was acc'Opted. ~ 'lhe ~a¥or deelkred nominations in order for a Councilman to be elected to take the place of A.N. SP~ngler resigned from the ll. th. ward, Eugene,Oregon. Nr. O.N.Kaldor was nominated as a eandicate to fill the unexpired term of A.N. Spangler esigned from the kth ward. Other nominations were called for and there being none the l~ayor declared the nominations closed, UPon motion 0.N. Kaldor was '-elected as Co%mcilm~n from the kttx ward in Eugene,Oregon to fill the unexpired term of A.N. Spangle~ resigned. Co%meilme~ oleos 0.N.~aldoP f~om the kth ward and A.'~.Slms from the ward bel~ presorts took tt~e oath of office before the 0ity Recorde~ and entered upon their offioiat duties at this Council meeting. ~he ~ayor appointed Councilman O.N. Kaldor, Chairman of the Sewer Committee and as a member of the Prin~ing Committee and the Health Committee. Upon motion the appointment was confirmed by the Council. 'B~e Mayor appointed Councilman A.W. Sims as' Chairman of the Printing Committee and as a member of ttxe Police Com~ittee' and the I~inanee Committee. Upon motion the appoint~en~ was confirmed by the Olty Counet~l. Mr. E.C.Wilfert and other wood dealers, of Eugene, Oregon appeared before ~e City Council and represented that they had regula~ wood yard establishments and places of business and requested that action by the Council be taken to protect them against transient wood dealers, persons who have a truck and b~v and peddle wood without an. established place of business. The matter was referred to the Judiciary Committee and City Attorney.
