Sec%ion 1. That the Common Council of tho City of D]gene, Oregon is hereby <br /> <br />authorized and empowered to issue 'and sell negottable bon~s of the city to the <br /> <br />amount of Mire Thousand Dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for the <br /> <br />purpose of constructing, in ooU,]unotio~ with Lmle County, Oregon, a public comfort <br />station to be located 'in the p~k south of Eighth Avenue and West of Oak Street. <br /> <br /> S~etlon 2. That the beds hereb, y authorized sh~ll be'denominated "Public <br />Comfort Station Bonds." They shall be a general obligation of the City of Eugene, <br />and shall be in such form and of such denominations as will in the ,Judgment of the <br /> <br />Common Council be most llkely ~e conduce to their salability. They shall be made,' <br /> <br />due and payable in' twenty years from the date of their issuance, and bear interest <br />at a rate not to exceed 5% per annum, payable semi-annually. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That. the Co~mon Council of the~ City of H~gene is hereby author- <br />ized to include in its general mun.iciapl tax levy each year sufficient ~peolal <br />levy-to pay th~'~!nterest-on the bonds and'provide a sinking fund-for~ the-p~me~t- - <br /> <br />of them when due, ~ ' <br /> <br /> ~eetlon 4. That the Cm~oa Council of the city ls hereby authorized.to issue <br /> <br />and sell-the said bonds, from thae. to _tine, as._theM _may_be needed_for_thepu~pose _ <br /> <br />herein specifi~t, but before andy of them sahll be sold, ~they. shall be advertised <br />for sale, by .~nblica-tion of a ~otice asking for bids therefor to, be published in <br />the two daily papers now published In Eugene, Oregon, in at .l'~ast cneissue of such <br /> <br />daily papers, two weeks prior to the time of the sale; and they may also ~ive <br />notice of 'the sale of bonds in such other papers as they deem.~to be best for the <br /> <br />interest of the city in effectlng a sale; but, if no satlsYactory bids for the <br />purchase of the bonds be received they may sell them at private sale at not les~- <br /> <br />than at par and accrue! intercept. <br /> <br /> On motion the follo~vlng resolution ~s' adopt~; <br /> <br /> R~O LUTIO N. <br /> <br /> Be it Resolved bM the Cqmmon C0~noll of the City of ~gene, Oregon, that <br />there be submitted te the el~ otors of the city fo~ thel~ approval or ~eJeetlon, <br /> <br />at the next general election 'to be held in the ~lty, on the 4th day of November, <br /> <br />1924, the annexed proposed charter amendment, entitled, "An act to amend the <br /> <br />charter of the City of Eugene, Oregon, by adding a new chapter thereto autheriz <br />and empowering the Con, non Council of the city to issue and sell negotiable bonds <br />of the city to the~of Twelve Thousand Dollars, or so much thereof as may be <br />necessary, for the purpose of bul~lng a new bridge on Ninth Avenue East across <br /> <br />t e Nil1 Race," <br /> <br /> <br />
