Gree~ appeared in response to the bill sent him for back <br />- auctioneer fee~ unpaid and after a'ful~ discuss!on of the matter it was voted <br /> to ~et him come under the third cl~s auctioneer section of the 0rdlnanee g,~vern- <br /> lng auetioneer~ and he to p~ all past due fees ~d up to J~uary <br /> the ~ount of ~:120.00 as the sum due to that time. <br /> <br /> A petition was received from the W.C.T.U. oo=~ittee working'in t~e interests <br /> of ~he new buildings for children at the Coca,lis Children's ~arm Home asking <br /> the City to pledge whateve~ tt could toward that cause. Councilman Wallace <br /> spoke on the matter stating he thought a contract could be m~q with this home <br /> to care for such children from ~gene. A Committee consisting of Wallace, ].~o- <br /> A~ister, and Washburne were appointed to ~ook into the matter and reporb. <br /> <br /> A petition was read from residents living on Falrmount.Blvd. ,e. sking for the <br />vacation of additional portions of said street in addition to the portions here- <br />tofore petitioned .for, a hearing on which original petition be%ng set fo~ this <br />4ate. A remonstrance petition was also ~ead as to th~ grant.lng ~f said first <br />petition to vacate portions of such Boulevard and N..Svarverud ahd Councilman <br />Washburne spoke on the matter. It wa~ agreed by petitioners an~protestants that <br />notice o£ hearing bn said new and additional petition be po.~ted for a hearing <br />'on DeCember 8ti1, 1~24, and ttmt the hearing set for this date be postponed and <br /> heard at a meeting of the Council on December 22nd, 1924, at 7;30.o'clock <br />-and that the additional petition filed thl.~ day~be also finally ,ti~posed of at <br /> that time and both petitions b~ heard-and treated as one. <br /> <br /> The matter of the Patterson Strett improvement for paving said Street from <br /> llth to 14th Avenues was taken up and the Chairman of the Road and Street Commi~- <br /> tee recommeade~ the bid of Stien BroS., filed at t.he last meeting, be accepted. <br /> Dlsc,~slon was had on the matter end it was reported that less th~ EO~ of the <br /> o~mers of Fron~ foe ~ge on said proposed i~provement h~ signed ~uoh <br /> Several C°uncl~men explained theiP Fo~er v~tes on granting thepetltlon stating <br /> they v~ted ,,Aye~ supposing the'petition had over ~0~ of the ov~ers of front food- <br /> age signed.
