Minutes of <br /> the meetings of July 12'21, and 26,1~6, re~ and approved. <br /> <br /> A petitlo~ was reeelv~ to pave 16th Avmue from W!ll~ette to Alder Streets. <br /> Such matter was referred to the Street Committee. <br /> <br /> A petition was received to pave let Avenue from V~ Buren ~reet to J~ffersoa <br /> Street. Such matter was referred to the Street Co.lites for report, and it ree- <br /> o~ended such petition be gra~t ed If a bond ts provided to protect the city for <br /> all ~der valuation lets. 0n motion such report was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> A petition was resolved to pave Washmgton Street from Clark Stree~ to the <br /> South marg~ of the Southern Fac ~le Railway Company right of way. Said petit ~n <br /> was referred to the Street Committee a~d It reco~end~ such petition be grained. <br /> 0n motlou such report was unan~ously ~topted. <br /> <br /> A petition was received to open Oak Street from its present southern terminus <br /> south to 19th Avenue. Svarverud appeared and asked further about the petition to pave 23rd Avenue <br />East. No action was taken. <br /> <br /> Jack Magiadry appeared on ~beh~!f of the Trail to Rall Committee and asked <br />the Mayor and Councll to head the Civic and Industrial Parade to be held August <br />20th, 1926, at the Trail to Mall Celeb~ation. Such matter was referred to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br /> . L.P. Earmon appeared and asked as to addltl cna], work on the Amazon in deepen- <br />ing the ditch already dug. Such matter was referred to the Sewer Conu~lttee. <br /> <br /> A letter was received from Jack'Beneflel to the U of 0, askingpe~m{ssion to <br />constrUct a seven foot sidewalk on 15th Avenue b%~ween University and Agate <br />Sir, sets, stating such width is needed for University purposes. On motion such <br />petit ion was granted, <br /> <br /> · .Edith Gardner appeared and asked the Council to cancel the lien ~g~lnst Lot <br />3, .Block l, of Brook's Addition to the city levied in the ~nour[t of $42.33 as a <br />benefit ~ n opening Van Buren Street as the same appeared to have been levied by <br />mistake. Such matter was referred to the City Attorney with power to act. The <br />City Attorney reported and recommended such lien be cancelled and th.e City <br />Treasurer was directed to so cancel such lien. <br /> <br /> · The City Engineer asked as to finlst~ng paving the South end ef ~oiumbla <br />Street next to ~alrmount Blvd. which was !eft to settle at the time the rest of <br />the street was paved. The Engineer was directed to get StienBros. to do such <br />work under their original contract. <br /> <br /> · The City Engineer asked the City to ~,urchase a Wat,~r ~egiste~. 0.'~ '.motion <br />such purchase was ordered. <br /> <br /> <br />
