Lee and all members of the Council. Neetln~ called <br />to order at 7;30 o'clock by the Mayor. , <br /> <br /> Thl~ b~ing the return date for hearing crotchets to the Viewers Report'o~l the <br />proposed opening of Potter Street from 23rd to 25th Avenues, several we:re pre~ent <br />and objected to the report ~s not being f~lr to those owning property south of <br />Blanton land. After discussion the mattee was, on motion, laid on the table.' <br /> <br /> This berg the return 4at. e for hearing protests on th~ Viewers ~eport on the <br />proposed opening of 24th AVenue from ~ate Gr. West 100 feet, N. t{ayss appeare,l <br />and protested as well as L.]~or,l~ on behalf of g.E. Jepson. After disousslo~ s'ueh <br />matter was referred back to the Viewers and th~ Oity Engineer for a new re~ort. <br /> <br /> D.W.Mayes al~peared as to an adjustment of his street assessment at the corner <br />el~ Moss Street and ~alrmount Blvd. Such matter was referred to the City Fngfneer <br />and City Attorney. <br /> <br /> Miss I~wry appeared and filed a protests petition to grading and gravelling <br />Jefferson Street fro~l~th to 20th Avenues, and the same was dise~sed. Councilman <br />Sin~nons as Chairman of the Street Co~mnittee recommended the former aot io~ of <br />the Council gralting a petition to g~ade and gravel .~aid street be rescinded and <br />the matter referred t~) the City ~gine~r to oheck up the ownerships on such street <br /> <br /> Jud Sta,.iTfer aippeared an4 m~le inquiry .as to the proposed opening of Taylor <br />Street. He was informed th~ viev~ers would have a report filed on january lC, <br /> <br /> Geo. Gansle appeared and pro, tested the ~otlon of the elty in, fixing the grade <br />adjacent to his property at the corner of Moss and ?airmount Blvd., and the <br />matter was disenssed. Chairman Si~nons of the Street Committee recom~eaded his <br />objection be overruled and, on motion, such recommendation was unanimously adopt~do <br /> <br /> Chairman IiIcCully of the ~lre and Water Committee stated there are two lights <br />at the corner of 3rd Ave. and Van Buren St., and. recommended one be moved to the <br />corner of Van Buren St. and Blair St. On motion, such reeo=,mendation was unanlmou~ <br />iy adopted. <br /> <br /> As per the call Bids were opened for the construction of,a sewer on th~ south <br />side of 13th Avenue from Mill St. 'to-the alley we.~t of Mlllstreet, as follows: <br /> 0 s ~ ar Snow. $629.25 <br /> W.W. Head Construction Co. 1007.80 <br />Said bids were referred to the Sewer Co~mnltte~ for report and it reco=~,~ended the <br />bid of Oscar' Snow at ~629.25. On motion, such report was adopted and the Hayer <br />and Mecorder were m~thorlzed to enter into a contract with the successful bidder <br />for'such contract work. <br /> <br /> As per the call btds were opened for the construction of a sewer between <br />Willamette and Oak Sts. from 17th to l~th Aves., as follows: <br /> Oscar Snow $9~4. O0 <br /> W.W. Hes~l Coast. Co. 880 O0 <br /> C. J. Ncgy 882.20 ' <br />Said bids were referred to the sewer Co~rmittee f~r report and it recomme~ded the <br />bid of W.W. Head at $880.00. 0~ motion, such report was adopted and the ~.ayo. r <br />and ~ecorder were authorized to enter into a oontract with the s~eessful bidder <br />for such con~.ract work. <br /> <br /> H.M. Elliott presente~ to the city a renewal dump ground contract for one <br />year from December ~5th, 1926. Said matter was referred to the ~tealt'~ Committee <br />and it recomme~.~ded 'the contract be accepted. On motion, such report was s~lopted. <br />Washburn~ anti Large voted "no". <br /> <br /> G.E. McCormick present~! a bill for ds~nages to his auto alleged done by a <br />city cae. Said matter was referred to th~ City Attorney. <br /> <br />An Aerial permit mas granted to John B. Beardsley at 92 loth Ave. W. <br /> <br /> The ~ssoeiated Oil Co. presented an oil contrast to the city for gas and <br />oil for 1~y27. The s ,ame ws.~ ordered held till other contracts are presented. <br /> <br />Bean and Brooks wrote the Council calling attention to the lack of sidewalks <br /> <br /> <br />
