A. Gllmore, City Recorder. <br /> <br /> This being the time and place to hear protests to the opening of 24th <br />Avenue from Agate Street 100 feet west, protests were called for. Peter A. <br />Nelson filed a written prote~t which was read end consllered. On motion such <br />protest was overruled with the understanding e~y objection for claims of merit <br />would be later settled by 5he city. <br /> <br /> This being the time ~nd place to hear protests to the opening of Taylor <br />Str~eet from 6th to llth Avenues 'protests were calle~ for. David Link appeared <br />by his son and K.L. Eall filed awrltten objection for reasons therein set forth. <br />Said objections were overruled '~lth the understanding any ob)ectlons for claims <br />of maria would be later settled by the city. <br /> <br />The following resolution w~s offered and unanimously ~opted: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION. <br /> <br /> Whereas, during the year 1926, and as .a part of the budget for said year <br />there wa~ purchase4 for use of the engineer's office of the City of Eugene, <br />2ord delivery truck, No. 11140706, at a purchase price of $150.00, the money. <br />for which was included in and actually was in the engineer's fund. T.hat thru <br />inadvertence the bill for said truck o~e in after the first of the year and <br />after the money appropriated to the. payment of it in the engineer's fund had <br />been turned over to the general fund with all other une×pended money at the <br />end of the year, <br /> <br /> Whereas, the $150 O0 for said Ford truck is a proper charge upon the <br />Engineer's fund for 1926. <br /> <br /> It is therefore ordered, that the sum so transferred from the En. gtneer~s <br />Fund to the general fund by used for thepayment of the $150.00 for the Yet4 <br />delivered truck, .a~d that this warrant be dr~n against the general fund and <br />that said blll be' pal~. <br /> <br />On motion, the following resolution w~s offered, end unanimously adopted: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION. <br /> <br /> Be It ResoLved by the Common Councll of the City of Eugene that the City <br />of M~gene build a storm sewer on,he south side of 14th Avenue from the center <br />line of Agate Street to the west line of Onyx Street, in the City of El~gene. <br /> <br /> Be It 2urther resolved, that the city Engineer Immediately prepare pla~s <br />and specifications for such improv~ent work, and the city recorder advertise <br />for competitive bids for such improvement work. <br /> <br /> Be l't furtherresolved, that the said work be done by the city and that <br />the same be paid for from the sewer fund. <br /> <br />On m~tlon, the following resolution was offered and u~nimously adopted: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION. <br /> <br /> Whereas, ~here has been referred to the Street Co:rmlttee, the City Engineer <br />and the City Attorney, a certain letter from the S.P.Co., t,:gether with maps <br />and ~ata asking that there be substltute~ for the present street car franchise <br />a slmllar franchsie for operating buses la the City upon routes as shown <br />upon said map, aa4 together therewith, 'there has been submitted to the said <br />committee, protests filed by certain property owners, ~4 <br /> <br /> Whereas, the Street Co~,~ittee, City Engineer and City Attorney have rep:orted <br />back to the council a reco~mend~atlon that the-Council set a time for a hearing <br />at which all pretests and commu~icatio~$ from citizens and property owners of <br /> <br /> <br />
