<br />present, a drawing w~ 'presented ef the pl~ of such construction. Said

<br />street from Hllyard St. to Fairmoumt Blvd., and the bi,d of St ien. .Bros. at
<br />$~2,204.71, for pav l~g of said street from Hllyard Street te Willamette Street.

<br />_relative to a leak in the wats pipe be,tween 7tn and 8th Avenues on the east
<br /> s,lde of Willamette Street, which is causing a delay l,n the fini.shlng of the
<br /> paving thereat ~n connection with the new gutters. Mr. McLain promised he
<br /> ~ould use every .effort to find such leak and remedy the condition thereat.

<br /> Chairman Willlamsen of the Sewer Committee bro,~4t up the ~,atter anew of tee
<br />protest of C.B.Blanton of the City running a sewer pipe across his property
<br />without lieehse and stated that the matter should be settled, it being stated
<br />that Bl enton would 'settle the matter for $50,00 cash and give a right away
<br />across his holdings. After d/scussion it was recommended by the Se'~er Commit%-
<br />ee that Blunt'on be' paid $50.00 and he be required to give a ~lght a way across
<br />_such property as a settlement in full fo~ his claim. Meved that such repert
<br />be adopted'. The roll was called, all present voting aye. E~cept Simmons,
<br />voting no. Motion was declared carried.

<br /> The Police Committee repOrted on the application of Mrs. Anna WlthroW for
<br />a rooming house at 9~ 6th Ave. W. stating such committee could not recommend
<br />said petition and asked that said petition be denied. On motion such report.

<br /> Mrs, J.A. Slever of Dallas Oregon' filed a claim for damages in the sum of
<br />~0,00. for dam'ages to her. flenc~ and lots in Blair St. Addition by circuses
<br />having used them. On motion such claim was laid on the table.

<br /> Lawrence Hunter appeared and asked the. city to t~ae care of the trees which
<br />have died by reason of the pavin~ of Vl~ard Street adjacent to his home. No
<br />official action was t~ken.

<br /> A comaittee e~phuslfless men adjacent to Van Buren Street [from] ~ra Avenue ~
<br />Blair St. appeared and protested any action which ~lght be taken in not opening
<br />Van Buren Street from ~rd Ay hue to Blair ~lvd. After discussion they were
<br />directed to see the board of viewers te see if their matter cannot be amicably
<br />ad Ju,~t ed.
