The Sewer Committee offered the following resolution, which was unanimous- <br />adopted: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION. <br /> <br /> Be It Re.solved, by the C9~m.non. CoUncll of the City of DAgene,.that the City <br />of ~gene construct, a Storm Sewer. on 24th Avenue from Univer slim to Alder St~., <br />thence South on Alder Street to 25th Avenue, thence west to the .Amazon Slough. <br /> <br /> Be It ~urther Resolved, that the City Enginee~ lmmsdlately pnepare plans <br />and. specifications for retch improvement work md the City,Recorder ~ivertlse for <br />~ompetitlve bids .for such improvement work. <br /> <br /> Be It 2urther Resolved, that the said work be done by the city and that the <br />same be paid for' fro.m the Trunk Sewer Pm.nd. <br /> <br /> The 'Police Committee r. eported the outlying districts are getting pratt, lc.ally <br />no poll~ce ProtectiOn owing to lack o.f patrolmen and asked the council to keep <br />such matter in mind between now and the time of the Budget meeting to see if <br />additional men e~not be procure~ for such sea, ice. <br /> <br /> ~The Hayer stated the Nil1 race. is la ~ condition on account of s.ew%~e <br />dumping into it and referred such matter to the Holath Committee and the City <br />Engineer to report at the next meetlng of. the Council. <br /> <br /> The [layer. staied it 'la' il.me a play-ground commission is appointed and sake4 <br />the Healt~ Committee to have the names of such proposed, coxwnlsslon re,dy for <br />election by the Council at the next m~etlng. <br /> <br /> This being the night for hearing protests to the order of the council for <br />the final vacation of Blair Blvd. as described in the notice and no protests <br />being filed the same was against r~ad amd, on ~ivlce of the City Attorney held <br />ove~' for final aotlon till the meeting of the Council to be' hied Septe~.b~r 26, <br />19a7. <br /> <br /> 'Phis being ~he night to hear protests to the vacation of certain streets in <br />Victoria Heights and W.A. I{all $349.50 as the <br />difference between the ~nouat of benefits and d .amages awarded and ~sse~sed in <br />said street opening and for the sidewalk dsstroyed. <br /> <br /> Be It Therefore Resolved, that the Treasurer of the City of ~igene cancel <br />fro'm his records the ~wo assessments of $500.00 each against thepropert¥ of <br />K.L. !tall as assessed for the opening of said Taylor Street. <br /> <br />The following resolution was of Sered and, on mot.ion, unanimously adopted: <br /> R E S 0 D' U TI 0N . <br /> <br /> Whorea~, at a tax sale held by Lane County, Oregon, on August 27, 1927, <br />certain properties not bid in by individual bidders waspurcha~ed by Lane County, <br />and ~nong such property so purchased, certain properties are included upon which <br />the city of ~lgcne holds municipal ~sessments, ~d under the statute providing <br />for such sales, the Cit~ of k~gene is foreoDosed of. all claims upoln the <br />purchase of the property by Lane County, unless the City shall, withla sixty <br />days from the date of such ~ale, pay to the County th~ ~nount~due as t~es <br />wish penalties ~d interest, excluding therefrom the portion of the t~es <br />assigned to ~he ~ity of ~gene. <br /> <br /> <br />
