Mat hews 267.80 <br /> Wl[fert Sand ~d Gravel Co. 299.40 <br />Said bids were referred to the Street Committee for report and It recommended <br />the bid of the ~gene Sand and Gravel Co. at $263.60. 0n motion' the ?eport <br />of the Street Committee w,~ ~ppr.~ved by roil'Calk, ~i the Mayor and ~ecorder <br />were instructed te enter into a contract with such s~ccessful bidder for such <br />improvement '' <br /> <br /> Senator McGladrey appeared on behalf of the' Elk Lodge ~tatlng the Elks <br />State Convention ls to be held la ~gene on June 24th, and 25th,!926, and as,~ed <br />tha~ such Lodge be granted concessions'for those two d~s for allelrcus, show <br />and peddler licenses ~d that none be granted wlt~ut the s~ctlon of the <br />committee la charge. 0n motion such request was un~imously granted and the <br />City Attorney was directed to prepare aa ordinanc~ to that end. <br /> <br /> E.J. Kop[lh appeared ~d apoke on the delapidated condition of a barn <br />a~ the a~[~y between Llnco~ and La:~vrencs Streets o's the north side of 3rd <br />Avenue. He also ~tated the Booth-Ke[[~ D~nber Co. has wood piled ~n the <br />street a, iJa~at to 3rd Avenue ~,t Lincoln Street, and that the ~gene Planing <br />Ml~ Co. hesa garage built in tll~ 9treet ~iJaeent to its p~aee of bullheads. <br />The Chief of Police was instructed to order ~ueh s~reets elaared and to report <br />on the condition of such barn. <br /> <br /> Dr. S.M. Kerron appeared and stated there is a broken sewer on the knazon <br />and also stated there are~complalnt~ as to the condition of th~ Bangs barn <br />near the U ef 0 Said matters were referr ed to the .{ alth Committee. <br /> <br />A wireless permit was granted to Ciarenee Savllle at 568 Almaden Street. <br /> <br /> A petition was received to grade and gr. avel Klne~.id Ave. from the S,P. <br />Right o£ way south to the south line of Pirst Ad,iitlo~ to El~caid Pmrk. Said <br />matter was referred ~o the Street Committee. <br /> <br /> A Petition was received to pave Jefferson Street from 13th Aven~e to <br />19th Avenue. Said matter ,was referred to the' Street ,~o~mnlttee. <br /> <br /> A Pe+~i5lon was received to .pave 15th Avenue from Willamette to Washington <br />Streets. Said matter was referred to the Street Co:mnittee. <br /> <br /> A petition was received to have Ts?lot Street opened between 6th Ave. <br />and llth Ave. Said matter was referred to the Street Committee, <br /> <br /> Tha prelimenary report of the Viewers for the op.enlng of 12th Avenue from <br /> Will.~nette to 0live Streats was received and read, and after discussion it <br /> w~s moved ~nd carried that the City Faglneer be tnstrueted to bring In his <br />. report for the opening of said ~treet la a straight line with 12th Avenue West <br /> of Olive Street,. a~d of the s~ width. <br /> A letter was re~l from Dr. Carrie E Lelbuyg of 604 L']th Ave. E. 0e.kLand <br /> CaI~lfor~l~, as to the alleged personal injury to her ~elf caused by a defective <br /> walk 1~ the City and dem~d~g settlement. The City E~b,~ey wss directed to <br /> m~e ~ettlemen~wlth her for $50.00,~ If possible. <br /> <br /> <br />
