A structure within, which the primary use permitted on the lot or <br />parcel is conducted. <br />Building Mass and Scale. The building mass is the three - dimensional bulk of a <br />structure defined by the height, width, and depth of the horizontal and vertical planes <br />of a building. Building scale is the relative or apparent size of a building, the <br />relationship between the mass of a building and its surroundings, including the width <br />of the street, open space, and the size of surrounding buildings. <br />Building official. The person authorized by the city manager to carry out the duties <br />of the city's building official under this code, or the building official's designee. <br />Building offset. Change in vertical planes along the facade of a structure. <br />Building offset Interval. The distance between change of vertical planes of a <br />structure. <br />Business occupant. An owner, lessee, or renter of a non- residential use of a <br />development site. Each user that has an independent or distinct property right in the <br />development shall be considered a separate business occupant. <br />Business Park. A planned development with an integrated physical environment and <br />characterized by a variety of industrial, and to a lesser extent, office and related <br />commercial use. <br />Carpool. A group of two or more commuters, including the driver, who share the ride <br />to and from work on a regularly scheduled basis. <br />Campus Living organization. A structure having sleeping facilities and a common <br />kitchen, used for providing living facilities for a student organization, including a <br />fraternity or sorority, that received official sanction from an institution of higher <br />learning. <br />Canopy Tree. A horizontally branching deciduous tree species that generally grows <br />to have a mature canopy width of at least 50 feet. <br />Cemetery. Land used or intended to be used for the burial of the human dead and <br />dedicated for cemetery purposes. Columbaria, crematories, mausoleums, and <br />mortuaries are considered part of the cemetery when operated in conjunction with and <br />within the boundary of the cemetery. <br />Ordinance - 11 <br />
