Uses within the parking exempt areas are not subject <br />to the requirements of EC 9.6410(3) Minimum Number of Required Off - Street <br />Parking Spaces: <br />(a) Downtown and West University, as depicted on Map 9.6410(4)(a). <br />(b) Blair Boulevard Historic Commercial area as depicted on Map <br />9.6410(4)(b). <br />9.6415 Loading and Drive - Through Design Standards. <br />(1) Drive- Through Design Standards. In connection with drive- through <br />establishments, there shall be a specially designed area for vehicle stacking <br />located on private property between the public right -of -way and the pick -up <br />window or service area. For a single row of vehicles, the specially designed <br />area shall be at least 200 feet in length to allow for stacking of up to 10 cars. <br />For a double row of vehicles, the specially designed area shall be at least 100 <br />feet in length to allow for stacking of up to 5 cars. This area shall not interfere <br />with safe and efficient circulation on the development site or abutting public <br />right -of -way. <br />(2) Landscaping. <br />(a) Off - street loading areas and vehicle stacking areas shall be landscaped as <br />required by EC 9.6420(3). <br />(b) In the I -1 zone, all off - street loading spaces and uses shall be on interior <br />service courts or screened from view from all adjacent property lines <br />according to EC 9.6410(4) High Wall Landscape Standard (L -4). <br />(3) Loading and Service Drives. All loading spaces for commercial and industrial <br />buildings and uses shall be off the street, shall be in addition to required off- <br />street parking spaces, and shall be served by service drives and maneuvering <br />areas so that no backward movement or other vehicle maneuvering within a <br />street, other than an alley, will be required. <br />9.6420 Parking Area Standards. <br />(1) Dimensions and Striping. All parking spaces shall be striped or marked in a <br />manner consistent with Table 9.6420(1) Motor Vehicle Parking Dimensions. <br />(See Figure 9.6420(1) Motor Vehicle Parking Dimensions.) <br />(a) Carpool and Vanpool Parkin. New commercial and industrial <br />developments with 20 or more employee parking spaces shall designate at <br />least 5 percent of the employee parking spaces for carpool or vanpool <br />parking. Employee carpool and vanpool parking shall be located closer to <br />Ordinance - 226 <br />
