direction shall not exceed 1300 square feet in any one -half mile of street <br />frontage designated for the location of billboards. <br />(i) Billboard removal The owner of a billboard shall provide the city written <br />notice of the owner's intent to remove a billboard not more than 50 days <br />nor less than 30 days before the removal of the billboard. <br />1. The owner of a billboard who has notified the city of the owner's <br />intent to remove the billboard may submit an application for the <br />construction of a replacement billboard. If the proposed replacement <br />billboard is to be at any location within % mile of the location of the <br />removed billboard, and if the application is submitted within 30 days <br />of the date of the removal of the billboard, such application shall be <br />given preference over any sign permit application previously <br />submitted but not yet approved which would have an effect on the <br />determination of the application for a replacement billboard. <br />2. If no such application is submitted by the owner of a billboard to be <br />removed within 30 days after the billboard is removed, the city may <br />grant a sign permit to any applicant, even if that permit precludes the <br />replacement of the billboard. <br />9.6680 Industrial Sign Standards. The industrial sign standards are hereby created and <br />applied to all property zoned for industrial use as set forth below. Signs are regulated <br />to accommodate the minimal street frontage of most parcels and the general proximity <br />to highways and arterial streets. <br />(1) Corresponding Zones. The provisions of this section apply to all property not <br />regulated by the highway commercial sign standards and located within the <br />following zones: all industrial zones. <br />(2) Permitted Sign Types. Signs allowed under the industrial sign standards shall <br />be limited to the following types: <br />(a) Awning signs; <br />(b) Billboards; <br />(c) Electronic message centers; <br />(d) Freestanding signs; <br />(e) Marquee signs; <br />(f) Projecting signs; <br />(g) Readerboards; <br />(h) Roof signs; <br />(i) Under - marquee signs; and <br />(j) Wall signs. <br />(3) Maximum Number of Signs. The industrial sign standards shall have no limit <br />on the number of signs permitted except that no freestanding or roof sign may <br />be constructed within 200 feet of any other freestanding or roof sign on the <br />development site, regardless of the number of street frontages. <br />(4) Maximum Sign Area.
