(a) Elevation in relation to mean sea level, of the lowest floor (including <br />basement) of all structures. <br />(b) Elevation in relation to mean sea level to which any structure has been <br />flood proofed. <br />(c) Certification by a registered professional engineer or architect that the <br />flood proofing methods for any non - residential structure meet the flood <br />proofing standards in section 9.6709. <br />(d) A description of the extent to which a watercourse will be altered or <br />relocated as a result of proposed development. <br />( The building official or his/her designee shall administer and implement the <br />provisions of sections 9.6705 to 9.6709 by granting or denying development <br />permit applications in accordance with their provisions. In connection <br />therewith, the duties of the building official or designee shall include, but not be <br />limited to: <br />(a) Review of all development permits to determine that the permit <br />requirements of sections 9.6705 to 9.6709 have been satisfied; <br />(b) Review of all development permits to determine that all necessary permits <br />have been obtained from those federal, state or local governmental <br />agencies, including the city, from which prior approval is required; <br />(c) Review of all development permits to determine if the proposed <br />development is located in the floodway. If located in the floodway, the <br />building official shall assure that the encroachment provisions of section <br />9.6709 are met; <br />(d) Obtaining, reviewing and reasonably utilizing any base flood elevation and <br />floodway data available from a federal, state, or other source in order to <br />administer the provisions of section 9.6709 (2) subsections (a) and (b), if <br />the base flood elevation data has not been provided in accordance with <br />subsection (1) of this section. <br />(e) Obtaining and recording the actual elevation (in relation to mean sea level) <br />of the lowest floor (including basement) of all new or substantially <br />improved structures, whether or not the structure contains a basement <br />where base flood elevation data is provided through the Flood Insurance <br />Study or required as in subsection (d) of this section; <br />(f) Verifying and recording the actual elevation (in relation to mean sea level) <br />and maintaining the floodproofing certifications required in subsection (1) <br />of this section for all new or substantially improved floodproofed <br />structures; <br />(g) Notifying adjacent communities and the Division of State Lands prior to <br />any alteration or relocation of a watercourse, and submitting evidence of <br />such notification to the Federal Insurance Administration; <br />(h) Requiring that maintenance is provided within the altered or relocated <br />portion of a watercourse so that the flood carrying capacity is not <br />diminished; and <br />Ordinance - 254 <br />
