r sidewalk and the building entrance is connected to the public <br />sidewalk by an on -site pedestrian facility, no on -site pedestrian <br />facility on the edge of the building adjacent to the sidewalk is <br />required. <br />b. when the edge of the building is bordered by a perimeter of <br />landscaping which does not exceed 3 0 feet in width, and an on- <br />site pedestrian facility is constructed at the edge of the <br />landscaping, no on -site pedestrian facility immediately adjacent <br />to the landscaped building edge is required. <br />4. To connect institutional, office, commercial and industrial uses on <br />the development site to adjacent existing or planned institutional, <br />office, commercial or industrial uses, and to existing or planned <br />transit stops, schools, or neighborhood parks where the addition of <br />on -site pedestrian paths would reduce walking or cycling distance <br />between the uses by 200 feet and by at least 50 percent over other <br />available pedestrian routes. <br />5. Along any development site, an on -site pedestrian facility connecting <br />the street to the main building(s) shall be provided for every 300 feet <br />of street frontage or for every 8 rows of vehicle parking, or for <br />whichever standard requires the most on -site pedestrian paths. <br />(b) In industrial developments on I -1 zoned property, on -site pedestrian paths <br />shall be constructed in the following cases: <br />1. Between the main building entrance and all streets adjacent to the <br />development site. On -site pedestrian paths shall be designed and <br />constructed to provide a direct connection to existing public right -of- <br />way and public accessways. <br />2. To connect the main building entrance on the development site to <br />adjacent existing or planned office, commercial or industrial uses, <br />and to existing or planned transit stops where the addition of the on- <br />site pedestrian facility would reduce walking or cycling distance <br />between the uses by 200 feet and by at least 50 percent over other <br />available pedestrian routes. <br />(c) In all zones, on -site pedestrian paths shall be constructed within new <br />multiple - family residential developments with 3 or more units to insure <br />that access is provided: <br />1. From every unit to all other units within the residential development. <br />2. From every unit to all laundry, recreational and other community <br />facilities in the residential development. <br />3. From every building located within 40 feet of a public or private <br />street to the street right --of -way line. <br />(3) Design of on -Site Pedestrian Facilities.
