Career <br />Career Assessment Guide and Career Development Plan <br />Employees who need assistance in developing their career goals should begin by completing the <br />Career Assessment Guide. Employees who have already identified their goals should begin <br />working on their Career Development Plans. <br />Career Assessment Guide <br />I. Contact HRRS/Recruitment and Selection staff to assist you in accessing the assessment tools <br />listed on the Career Assessment Guide. <br />2. Contact the City's EAP for career guidance and advising. <br />1 Complete the four steps listed on the Career Assessment Guide, <br />4. Use the information from the Career Assessment Guide to begin working on your Career <br />Development Plan. <br />5. If you have questions, contact HRRS/R.ecruitment & Selection staff. <br />Career Development Plan <br />I. If you have not identified your career goals, you may want to first complete the Career <br />Assessment Guide (see above). Employees must pass probation prior to initiating their Career <br />Development Plans. <br />2. Determine your short-, medium -, and long -range goals. Consult with your supervisor and <br />other contacts to identify the steps to achieve your goals. <br />3. Review your plan with your supervisor and submit the original with your supervisor's <br />signature (acknowledgment of review) to HRRS/Recruitrnent & Selection. Keep one copy for <br />your records and give one copy to your supervisor. <br />4, You are encouraged to review and update your plan with your supervisor annually or at the <br />time of your performance evaluation.
