Policy Title: Mandatory Reduction of Work Schedule <br />Purpose: The purpose of the Mandatory Reduction of Wo policy is to <br />reduce payroll costs during budget shortfall years while m ming City services and <br />avoiding layoffs. Based on the Executive Team review, de nt management may <br />implement the reduced work schedule to offset overall expe � and sustain <br />budgetary goals. <br />Scope: All represented and non represented emp loy, es may e implaG�d by this <br />policy. The City will comply with applicable requirerfi%fi specified in each applicable <br />Collective Bargaining Agreement when implementing 'this policyt d will comply with all <br />notice and bargaining obligations, if anyunder PECBA before implementing any <br />proposed reduced work schedule, " <br />Policy Statement: The Mandafory'#2edud ion of Work Schedule policy reduces payroll <br />costs to assist with addressing the b rudget deficit by reducing employee hours. <br />Employees will maintain seniority and "I;' fits (some restrictions may apply). <br />The Executive Team will review and deter "iIllkljll t lAe overall reduction in working hours <br />necessary for bu'' savings. Department taI nagement will have the flexibility of <br />setting work si N l ased on the business or operational needs of the <br />department, as d et in City in its sole discretion.
