Introducing City of Eugene Mobile Website View <br />A new City of Eugene mobile web view came online in early August, satisfying the needs of the City’s increasingly <br />mobile community. It was designed and programmed by the Information Services eGov team. The new mobile site <br />provides access to key web pages from the City of Eugene website and integrates several popular applications <br />including City Event Calendar, flight status information, employment opportunities, parking ticket payment, library <br />catalog, and RecEnroll. It is available to the general public through a variety of smartphones or small form factor <br />devices such as iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Windows Mobile devices. If you own a smartphone, you can visit <br />thehome page of the City website and be automatically redirected to the mobile website. Alternatively, users can <br />check out the new mobile website at: http://www.eugene-or.gov/mobile. For <br />more information, call Recreation Administration, 541-682-5333. <br />New Community Event Rolls into Eugene in September – Volunteers Still Needed <br />Eugene will be sponsoring its first-ever Sunday Streets event on <br />Sunday, September 18, from noon to 4 p.m. Eugene Sunday Streets <br />will be a car-free route that opens a three-mile stretch for people to <br />walk, roll and dance through the streets. This fun, free event for all <br />ages will feature two activity centers along the route at Washington- <br />Jefferson Park and Campbell Community Center. Fun activities at the <br />event will be active and include free fitness classes, yoga, hula <br />hooping, dancing and live music at two stages. <br />Eugene Sunday Streets will be a celebration of the central Eugene <br />area, highlighting the many amenities and local businesses of the <br />neighborhood while promoting healthy activities and active means of <br />transportation. The route will go from the 5th Street Market downtown <br />Sunday Parkways events are popular in Portland <br />to Whiteaker’s Blair District connecting several neighborhoods and <br />local parks. With no designated start or finish, community members of all ages can enjoy the two-way route at their <br />own pace. <br />Sunday Streets is expected to attract 4,000 community members. Although neighbors are encouraged to limit or <br />postpone their driving between noon and 4 p.m. on the day of the event, there will be designated intersections to <br />allow residents to access their homes. To make this first-ever community event a success, almost 200 volunteers are <br />needed!Volunteer opportunities include distributing door hangers, providing information, monitoring intersections, <br />and more.
