if _ <br />! 0 <br />RFSOLUTION N0. y <br />RECITALS: <br />In November 1973 , the klayor. appointed the Community Goals <br />Committee to begin work on updating the 1967 Eugene Community <br />Goals and Policies. <br />On May 1, May 8 and June 5 , 1974, the Community Goals Committee, <br />together with participants in the Community Goals Conference <br />considered the Proposed 1.974 Eugene Community Coals and <br />Policies and at the 1 �Ltter meeting recommended adoption of <br />tho proposed document to the City Council, <br />On June '24, 1974', the Eugene Planning Commission considered <br />the proposed goals and policies document and to6k action re- <br />commending adoption by the COUnci 1 with f urther ' sugges tions <br />01_ttlirling the Commission's recommendations relative to the <br />I)r.opasals contained in the document, <br />On July 8 197 A the Common Council of the City of Eugene <br />conduc Lead a publ i. c hearing on the . Proposed 1974 Eugene Community <br />Goals and Policies and considered the re.c,ommendations of the <br />Planning Commission, the Community Goals Conference and the <br />Public testimony presented. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVE'D BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CI'T'Y OF EUGENE, OREGON, <br />as f o l l o w s : <br />Th Lhe got-z1 s and a5�;umpti.ons in Chapter 1, and the state- - <br />ments of I3ol.icy in Chapters 2 through 14 as set north in <br />Exhibit A are adopted as the official goals and policies <br />i'()r the (:i_Ly of Eti -gene to be used by tLe Common Council al <br />its advisory beards and commissions in making decisions <br />about the general development of the Ci t of Eugene and the <br />9 ;c7a15 to bo ac,hic.ved by the go of the City of <br />F1igene . <br />'That the proposals iii Chapters 2 through 14 as set forth in <br />Exhibit A are rc1cogn i :�od .
