MINUTES Mayor's Committee on Economic Development Sloat Conference Room--Atrium Building 99 West 10th Avenue June 14, 2004 1 p.m. PRESENT: Committee: Kathy Smith, incoming Chair; Jim Forbes, outgoing Chair; Tom Bowerman, Marcia Edwards, Bill Goldsmith, Don Kahle, Steve Korth, Gretchen Pierce, Joshua Proudfoot, Marvin Re'Voal, Rusty Rexius, Jana Rygas, Ellen Teninty, Craig Wanicheck. Staff: Planning and Development Director Tom Coyle; Ann Munroe, Mike Sullivan, Denny Braut, Planning and Development Department; Terry Moore, Anne Fifield, ECONorthwest. Absent: Kartar Khalsa, Michael Phinney, committee members. I. WELCOME Ms. Smith called the meeting of the Mayor's Committee on Economic Development (MCED) to order at 1:06 p.m. She explained that Mr. Forbes would be joining the committee at about 1:45 p.m. and had asked Ms. Smith to chair the meeting until his arrival. II. APPROVE MINUTES FROM MEETING tt4 Ms. Pierce, seconded by Mr. Rexius, moved to approve minutes from Meeting #4. Mr. Bowerman submitted a correction to page 6, last paragraph, second line (omission in italics, correction in bold), changing "commercial/residential to "commercial/industrial." Ms. Teninty submitted a correction to page 3, paragraph 7, line 3 (addition in bold), "... because employees did not earn enough money to support themselves." The minutes were deemed approved with revisions. IlL REVIEW MAYOR'S CHARGE TO THE COMMITTEE Ms. Smith read the Mayor's charge to the committee. Noting that the charge required the committee to submit a final report to the City Council in June 2004, Ms. Smith said a City Council work session on the report is scheduled for August 9, 2004.
