<br /> <br /> <br />Distance <br />to <br />Elementary Schools <br />Elementary schools are a daily destination for most of the year for families with children in grade school. <br />Twenty-seven public and ten private elementary schools are used to generate the service areas. <br />Distances are calculated on a network of streets with breaks at ¼, ½ and one-mile, and areas closer to <br />schools receive higher weighing than areas farther away. Because Middle Schools and High Schools <br />have larger populations and draw from larger areas, they are not necessarily designed to be walkable. <br />Page | 21 <br /> <br />
