The Human Rights and Human <br />Services Department houses the following <br />programs; Landlord Tenant Program, Fair Housing, <br />Equal Employment and Public Accommodation <br />Discrimination, Americans With Disabilities Act. <br />There is also a separate Commission on <br />Disabilities. <br />Advisory, Quasi-judicial, Judicial Body The Department is charged with receiving and <br />investigating discrimination complaints. In concert <br />with the City Attorney’s office, they have <br />subpoena power, conduct fact-finding conferences <br />and make findings. If conciliation cannot be <br />reached, the case will be forwarded to the City <br />Hearings Examiner for a public hearing. <br />The Commission reviews complaints regarding <br />EEOC, ADA, and Fair Housing Standards and is <br />expected to either approve or disapprove findings <br />19 | Page <br /> <br /> <br />
