<br /> <br />ECC <br />UGENE ITY OUNCIL <br />AIS <br />GENDA TEM UMMARY <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Work Session: ConnectOregon Project Applications <br /> <br /> <br />Meeting Date: April 9, 2012 Agenda Item Number: A <br />Department: Public Works Staff Contact: Chris Henry <br />www.eugene-or.gov Contact Telephone Number: 541-682-8472 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />ISSUE STATEMENT <br /> <br />This work session provides an opportunity to discuss and provide feedback on priorities for the area’s <br />ConnectOregon IV project applications before a meeting of the Lane Area Commission on Transportation <br />(Lane ACT) that is scheduled for April 11, and the Metropolitan Policy Committee (MPC) set for April <br />12. Mayor Kitty Piercy represents the City of Eugene on the Lane ACT. The Mayor and Councilor Alan <br />Zelenka are the City’s MPC representatives. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />The MPC is an intergovernmental committee that, among other functions, provides policy guidance in <br />transportation planning. The Lane ACT is an advisory body established to provide a forum for <br />stakeholders to collaborate on transportation issues affecting Lane County (Region 2, Area 5) and to <br />strengthen state and local partnerships in transportation. Area Commissions on Transportation (ACTs) <br />are advisory bodies chartered by the Oregon Transportation Commission. <br /> <br />The Lane ACT will prioritize the county’s ConnectOregon IV project applications; the MPC will <br />prioritize the metro area’s applications. <br /> <br /> <br />RELATED CITY POLICIES <br />This item relates to a number of policies and goals, including Council Goals for Sustainable <br />Development and Effective, Accountable Municipal Government. <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL OPTIONS <br /> <br />The council may provide feedback for Mayor Piercy’s consideration. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER’S RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />The City Manager makes no recommendation. <br /> <br /> <br />SUGGESTED MOTION <br /> <br />No suggested motions are offered by the City Manager. <br /> S:\CMO\2012 Council Agendas\M120409\S120409A.doc <br /> <br />
