COUNCIL OPTIONS <br /> <br />The City Council may: <br />1. Appoint applicants who have been nominated; <br />2. Appoint other applicants from the pool, or <br />3. Seek additional candidates for these positions. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER’S RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />The City Manager has no recommendation on this item; the appointments are made by the council. <br /> <br /> <br />SUGGESTED MOTIONS <br /> <br />Budget Committee <br />There are three vacancies on the Budget Committee. From the eligible pool of candidates, the council <br />chose to interview four applicants. Two applicants received five or more votes to be appointed; their <br />names are reflected in the motions below. <br /> <br />Move to appoint Jill Fetherstonhaugh to Position 4 on the Budget Committee for a three-year term <br />beginning July 1, 2012, and ending on June 30, 2015. <br /> <br />Move to appoint Marshall Wilde to Position 6 on the Budget Committee, for a three-year term beginning <br />July 1, 2012, and ending on June 30, 2015. <br /> <br />Move to appoint _____________ to Position 8 on the Budget Committee, for a three-year term beginning <br />July 1, 2012, ending on June 30, 2015. <br /> <br />Civilian Review Board <br />There are three vacancies on the Civilian Review Board; three incumbents applied and received enough <br />votes for reappointment. <br /> <br />On April 27, 2012, a community panel met to review the applications and recommend qualified candidates <br />for council consideration. The panel’s recommendations were forwarded in a memorandum to the council <br />on May 30, 2012. <br /> <br />Move to reappoint George Rode to Position 5 on the Civilian Review Board, for a three-year term <br />beginning July 1, 2012, and ending on June 30, 2015. <br /> <br />Move to reappoint Bernadette Conover to Position 6 on the Civilian Review Board for a three-year term <br />beginning July 1, 2012, and ending on June 30, 2015. <br /> <br /> <br />Move to reappoint Debra Velure to Position 7 on the Civilian Review Board, for a three-year term <br />beginning July 1, 2012, and ending on June 30, 2015. <br /> <br />Human Rights Commission <br />There are four vacancies on the Human Rights Commission; two incumbents reapplied and received <br />enough votes for reappointment.
