Attachment D: Text responses from consumer plastic bag ban survey
I had an extra 10 minutes today to do this survey, but am thinking "why bother?" This city council
does what it wants, ignoring the people. Case in point, W. 11th by-pass. The people voted and
approved the building of it TWICE. The council supported the mayor in it's rejection. Why do the
city council members think they know how to rum MY life and make MY decisions better that I do?
They maybe should contribute to Eugene 4J school district and improve education in proper
use/recycle/disposal of plastic bags.
it's a good idea and I hope we follow the examples of Portland and Corvallis
We can do this! We need to lose the sense of entitlement to waste resources. It's an unhealthy
entitlement.
Like I mentioned above. We use the store plastic bags to line our trash cans at home. If we did
not have these bags we would have to purchase them which cost money. Either way they end up
in the land fill.
Please, please implement this. Let's be a leader in protecting our environment from the totally
unnecessary plastic bag. People WILL adjust to using cloth or other reusable bags! Hopefully this
will also lead to reducing consumption and waste!!
If there is a ban on plastic bags then is the City going to change the ordinance regarding animal
waste when walking or at parks????
Please stop producing plastic bags
I am so excited for this policy to come into effect in the city of Eugene. For a city as forward-
thinking, compassionate, and sustainable as ours, this should be a no brainer!
Please ban single use plastic bags.
Go green Eugene! Ban the bag please :-)
It is like a war to stop the baggers from using 10 bags when 2 might work. If you are not quick
enough to stop them, you are jammed with a gob of the darn things. #1 folks these are a
petroleum product and how much do we listen to the whining about the price of gas? IGNORANT
I fully support the proposed ordinance.
I work full-time at UO, and do business in Eugene,

so the plastic bag issues matters to me, wherever I am.
Ban the bag!
we don't need government intervention in one more area of our lives!!! We are intelligent enough
to make our own choices!!
