Attachment D: Text responses from consumer plastic bag ban survey

spend your time on
Charge me a few cents for a bag, but don't ban them.
Why is the city of Eugene worried about plastic bags? Limit government oversight. I am a big boy
and can make my own choices!
plastic bags have so many uses I would not be able to get along without them. Pay people for
recycling them like cans.
A ban on plastic bags is long overdue. Let's do it!
The time has come, NO MORE PLASTIC bags.
People somehow managed for thousands of years to carry their purchases without plastic bags. I
don't see why we need them now. I ride along the Fern Ridge bike path and most of the litter I
see in the creek or on the banks are plastic grocery bags.
I support ban on bags. Far better to use something biodegradeable.
Push recycling but don't make consumers buy trash bags and lunch bags. What will dog owners
use for their pets droppings and what will cat owners use when they clean the litter box?
Leave the choice of what type of shopping bag I will use up to me, not the city or Mayor Piercy.
This is quite a waste of council time and resources.
