Thanks!
The negative environmental impact of plastic bags is awful. It's easy to get in the habit of bringing
your own reusable bags.
RIDICULOUS idea to ban plastic bags! i see people using far fewer plastic bags at the store. if
people have 2or3 items they don't even bother w/a bag, or bring their own. I find they
perform much better than plastic or any food item that may condense or leak. Completely
restricting the use of plastic bags would force me to resort to using the less effective paper bags
for all items. Further I reuse the plastic bags at least once and then usually use them as trash
bags. If you really want to propose useful regulation, force retailers to have both paper and plastic
bags readily available. I often find that retailers do not have paper bags stocked at all checkouts.
RECYCLED paper bags are just as good!
If Portland and Corvallis can ban the use of plastic bags why can't Eugene? They don't
fall apart in the rain. I also get paper bags from time to time which I also reuse.
