Attachment D: Text responses from consumer plastic bag ban survey biggest source of bacterial contamination between production and consumption of raw food I'm pretty good at remembering to bring my own bag, but sometimes I forget, at which point I use no bag or plastic bags. Your form does not allow "Check All That Apply" to be used. Items 1, 3 and 4 apply for me. I want the plastic bags to carry out the garbage. None are wasted. The store does not ask what type of bag I want, and then pops it in a plastic bag before I can stop them (e.g. Safeway) Sometimes buy more than my reusable bag(s) will hold. The bags are unsanitary. i reccyle them and use them at home with carrying things to and from friends houses Sometimes i forget them in the car but I am making an effort to buy more reusable bags and getting in the habit of always using them. I re-use the plastic bags take out food from restaraunts there stupid, i don't want to carry a re-useable bag If I forget it I always ask for paper and then use this for my recyclables at home I have seen people with filthing bags, I just leave the store and all the germs behind. i use store plastic bags to pick up after the dog, carry things to friend's, temporary storage I reuse the plastic bags for household use to line my trash cans, pick up dog waste, carry things to other locations, to name a few uses. cant check all that apply... forget reusable bags at home or in vehicle Most reusable bags are not washable, and when washed they quickly fall apart. I like using plastic bags....................Hate reuseable (not clean and a pain to use......... Reusable bags are inconvenient. I like having the single-use plastic bags at home for other uses. I use the plastic bags as trash and dog waste bags. Otherwise I would then have to buy plastic bags for these purposes. I don't drive so put some items in plastic bags in my backpack, and the rest in one canvas bag. I put the plastic bags inside the canvas bag, othewise it would often be a huge mess of melted ice- cream, leaking watermelon juice, etc. Plastic bags make shopping on foot easier. Much easier to carry than paper. Seems like not using cars is better for the environment, than not using plastic bags. They do make biuodegradable ones, why not use those? I have them and use them. Not clean, cost money, take up too much space, forget them at home or in car, like to reuse plastic bags from grocery store at home Forget them and they are not clean I use reussable bags over and over.....Garbage, holding items to take to St. Vincent. Good will. etc. I don't carry bags around with me in case I decide to shop in Eugene. Nothing prevents me. I keep bags in my car and have a system to get bags back to the car once bags used. I have other uses for the plastic bags. Most are used as trash bags. unplanned shopping None of your business I reuse the plastic bags from the store in my garbage cans and for many other things. They are multi-use for me. expense Plastic and paper bags provided by the retailer are a free resource for us to reuse for garbage, cat litter etc.
