Attachment D: Text responses from consumer plastic bag ban survey
Used for garbage
Cut them up into small pieces if too dirty to recycle
use as trash bags
I do not ever use plastic bags. I detest them.
see above
The bags are used in our small trash cans. If the bags go away I'll just have to buy small trash
bags.
Use as garbage bags so they are ultimately thrown away
I never take them. Ones that arrive at my house I reuse as bin liners, then toss full of trash.
use them for garbage can liners. will have to buy liners if bags are banned.
just throw away due to contaminations
Reuse as dog pickup bags
Every plastic bag in my household is used again at least once after coming from the store. Some
for trash although some are still in use for more then a decade. We use them to: carry lunches to
school, wrap up leftovers in the fridge, line trash baskets, pick up dog waste, store Christmas
decorations (some are more then a decade old), collect trash when walking and many other
things.
kitty litter duty
Doggie poo bag
Doesn't apply
Use for cat litter and dog poo
Reuse, then use as garbage containers
We use our plastic bags as small garbage sacks for the bathroom, etc.
We use them to pack lunches, pick up after dog, pack stuff, all the time
clean litter box
For dog waste
pick up dog poop
storage of items to be donated or reused
Use them to clean the cat box and then throw them away.
we use them for garbage collection at home, and for picking up the dog poop.
To carry out the garbage
bagging dog waste
i reuse and reuse until they have had something in them I can't wash out, by which point they are
probably not recyclable due to grease or something similar.
Clean the kitty litter, put bagful in trash.
dog poop
I NEVER use plastic bags- I recycle my roommates
i use them as garbage bags for my home
Don't use them
i use store plastic bags to pick up after the dog, carry things to friend's, temporary storage
I mostly reuse as trash can liners and to pick up dog waste, so they get thrown away right away.
Others I reuse over and over and over until they are unusable and then recycle them or throw
them away, depending on how clean they are. If I find them piling up in excess, I take them back
to the store for recycling or start requesting paper bags and/or using my own bags.
Recycle only the bags marked as recyclable
I use them to throw away dirty diapers.
They are good for many things. Some for small can trash liners and other i reuse many times to
put things in when I'm going somewhere
