Seenn as a regionaal system, Euugene Fire && EMS Depaartment, <br />Springfieeld Fire & Liife Safety Department, aand Lane Ruural Fire/Resscue District provide <br />ambulancce transport for a majoriity of Lane CCounty citizeens. Rural MMetro Ambullance, a privaate <br />ambulancce service prroviding seleect non-emerrgency transsports, and LLifeFlight, aiir ambulancee <br />transporttation for thee most criticaal patients, aaugment the system. Thee three goverrnmental <br />providerss continue too experience a financial ccrisis attribuuted largely tto the federaal governmennt’s <br />decline inn Medicare aand Medicaiid paymentsand the econnomic recession resultinng in an increease <br />in utilization by thosee underinsurred and uninnsured.
