Lease of land and building options on longer -term basis
Suggestions from councilors and LCC Board members included:
• Use existing building as a youth center
• Consider Regional Prosperity Plan and think about ways to incorporate community needs into
plans for future uses.
• Maintain open communications (ongoing) as the new housing development occurs and as
students begin classes in the new building.
City Manager Ruiz noted that the Eugene Police will have a sub - station in the new building.
Sonya Christian was introduced and provided information about the Master Plan. In -depth analysis of all
potential growth analysis was done including wetlands, natural resources, potential services, and legal
considerations.
Councilors and LCC Board members expressed appreciation for the partnerships and collaboration that
occurred and continues to occur to enhance the community.
ADJOURN: The meeting adjourned at 6:55 pm.
Respectfully Submitted,
Michelle Mortensen
Deputy City Recorder
MINUTES — Eugene City Council September 24, 2012
Work Session
Page 2
