10 <br />Professionally produced flyers were circulated and mailed to every household to promote <br />the two community forums. <br />OUTREACH CONTACT SUMMARY <br />A major theme behind all the outreach strategies was to create a personal connection <br />between SCRROL volunteers and neighbors. The numbers indicate the effectiveness of <br />this strategy: <br />• 253 residents signed up for the SCRROL interested parties email list; <br />• 75 residents signed up to volunteer for SCRROL; <br />• 51 residents joined the SCRROL Facebook page; <br />• SCRROL members participated in service district meetings. <br />TABLE I: SUMMARY OF OUTREACH <br />KEY FINDINGS: RESIDENTS <br />Results from the Neighborhood Conversation forms indicate that the listed issues <br />resonated with residents. Participants were asked to check the statements they <br />supported, and every statement was checked by at least 50% of respondents with some <br />statements checked by over 70% of respondents. <br />In addition to asking which statements they support, participants were asked to <br />place a star by their top three priorities. This information was useful because it asked <br />residents to make a choice about what is most important. The complete results for each <br />neighborhood are shown in Table II. <br />Issues most frequently selected as "Top Priorities" by the River Road residents who <br />completed the Neighborhood Conversation form were: <br />• Make streets safer and more friendly for cyclists and walkers. <br />• Protect the look and feel of the neighborhood while accommodating additional growth. <br />• Increase police patrols. <br />Estimated # <br />Outreach <br />of Contacts* <br />Intercepts: Volunteers talked with the public at community events.
