PeODit� <br />The River Road Community Organization neighborhood is a vibrant neighorhood of 11,964 <br />people located in north - central Eugene. This section of the neighborhood profile looks at the <br />characteristics of the people living within the River Road Community Organization neighborhood <br />related to race, ethnicity, age, gender, veteran status and education. <br />Race and Ethnicity <br />Neighborhoods are comprised of many people with <br />unique histories, backgrounds, culture, and stories. <br />Understanding racial and ethnic diversity within our <br />neighborhoods is also important to understanding <br />and connecting with our neighbors. <br />The U.S. Census Bureau recognizes racial identity <br />and ethnic identity as distinct characteristics. For <br />ethnicity, the census groups all respondents into one <br />of two categories, which are "Hispanic or Latino" <br />and "Not Hispanic or Latino ". Understanding racial and <br />ethnic diversity in our neighborhood is important for understanding our neighbors and ensuring <br />shared and accessible neighborhood amenities. <br />How does racial and ethnic diversity in our neighborhood compare with the racial and ethnic <br />diversity of the neighbors we know?
