<br />He was "deeply involved in the social and economic fabric of 19th Century Eugene". <br /> <br />Dr. She1to~ known for his public-spirit, died of leukemia and pneumonia in Feb. '93 <br /> <br />At the time of his death, he owned most (ifnot all) of the land between Lincoln and Pearl <br />adjacent to what is now called the 3fd/4i11 Connector. Now that this road has been converted <br />from on alleyway to one of the fmest boulevards in Eugene at the heart of our Historic <br />District, it is only fitting that we honor one of our most significant pioneers by naming this <br />new street "Shelton Boulevard". <br /> <br />Ray Wiley, Chair Building & Grounds Committee 8M!
