<br />J <br /> <br />\ 'C <br />j'\i. \'C0SJ ~ <br />\\J\ <br /> <br />Hello Mayor Piercy and Members of City Council. <br /> <br />My name is Antho_ny Johnson and I am an 8th grade student at Prairie <br />Mountain School located in the Bethel School District. I am writing to you to <br />inform you about my thoughts and feelings regarding Golden Garden <br />Ponds located in West Eugene. If you don't already know, I lost one of my <br />best friends to those ponds and want something or anything done to make <br />them safe. It was also brought to my attention that he and his cousin were <br />not the only kids to lose their lives in the ponds. Four boys, in the last 8 <br />years, have been taken by the ponds, also known as, THE PITS. I plan to <br />do whatever it takes to make those ponds safe for everyone. <br /> <br />They are extremely dangerous and it's supposed to be a place people call <br />a park. It is filled with trash, high vegetation, and nasty, disgusting water. It <br />is important to make this area safe because we are letting days, months, <br />and years go by where more lives can and probably will be taken day by <br />day.
