To Members of City Council and Mayor Kitty
Piercy

Hi my name is Travis Jones. I am a soon to be 8th grade graduate from Prairie

Mountain School, and I am writing to bring to your attention the dangers of Golden

Garden Ponds. As you know 4 people have drown at the Ponds or "The Pitts". The City

should strive to make the Ponds a real park.

To make the ponds safe we should build trails so we can travel on. Trails would

make the ponds more appealing to others. We should also build a path for rescue vehicles

in case somebody were to fall in to the ponds. Also a park for kids to play on and a

swimming pool that would seem safer and better to swim in. Some things that we can do

is to spread the bark, make signs, and to plant trees and plants to make a eye caching

scenery for those visiting the ponds.

You should add signs about the weeds, the depth, and the under toe it has. Signs

explaining the deaths would scare people to stay out of the ponds. Add pictures names

and crosses. Ifit wasn't for Shauna Davis (mother of Nick Davis who drown because of

the ponds) nobody might have came forward and the ponds would stay deadly for the rest

of our lives.

Put trails to slope the edges so that way if somebody falls in they would be able to

get out. There is no slope just a drop off. Thank you for listening and try to make the

ponds safe.

Sincerely,

Travis Jones
