The extended <br />suspension would provide additional time for the council to consider options for modifying the <br />MUPTE program criteria. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />On February 27, 2013, the council approved an ordinance suspending the Multi-Unit Property <br />Tax Exemption (MUPTE) program to provide the time needed for the council to conduct a <br />detailed evaluation of the program and determine if modifications should be made. On May 29, <br />2013, the council approved an ordinance extending the sunset date for the MUPTE program <br />suspension to August 31, 2013. At the June 24, 2013, work session, the council determined that <br />the MUPTE suspension should be extended to January 31, 2014. <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL OPTIONS <br />No formal action is required at this public hearing. Council action is scheduled for July 24, 2013. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER’S RECOMMENDATION <br />This item is scheduled for public hearing only.
