ROTARIANS LOVE ROSES
AROUND THE CITY
Teen Team Volunteering at Eugene Public Library
Middle- and high-school students: apply now for the fall session of Teen Team at the
Eugene Public Library. The group will volunteer at the Downtown Eugene Public Library
on Tuesdays, Sept. 30 through Nov. 18, from 4 to 5 p.m.
Teen Team participants help staff prepare items for check-out, set up crafts projects for
kids, create displays, clean and organize books, and more. It’s a great way for youth to
support the Library, gain skills, meet new friends, and contribute ideas.

Rotarians Love Roses
For over a decade, the members of the Delta Rotary Club of Eugene have been lending their time, talents and funding to
enhance and restore the Owen Rose Garden. Their list of improvements is exhaustive and includes the construction of the
much-loved gazebo, pergola and trellises. Just this summer,
they erected a new welcome kiosk, added gravel to paths,
weeded like crazy and worked on replacing wooden borders
around the formal rose beds. They also just became the
official adopters of the garden through the City of Eugene
Parks Stewards program which entails a two-year
commitment and four projects per year.
In an effort to help their rapidly growing member base
become more familiar with their work at the garden, the club
will host their Sept. 5 lunch meeting outside, among the roses.
