Yard Chemicals Video Translated to Spanish
A newly translated Public Works video in Spanish is now available on the City of Eugene’s stormwater page
www.happyrivers.org, and the Latino Lane County Facebook page. The video, narrated by Brenda Cervantes of the Long
Tom Watershed Council, highlights how yard chemicals can affect
health, especially for children, pets and wildlife.
Currently, the department’s stormwater program has a fact sheet
about managing paint waste in Spanish and several handouts
through the education curricula for elementary students. Other
Spanish-language materials are being produced in conjunction
with this summer’s road repair projects.
Public Works continues to develop materials on projects and
programs designed for Spanish-speaking members of the
community. The department is currently in the process of
creating a web site, www.eugene-or.gov/pwEspanol, to provide
easy access to these materials.
