AROUND THE CITY
Mayor Piercy Leads Downtown Holiday Kickoff Celebration: Light Up Downtown
Come kick off the holiday season with Mayor Kitty Piercy and Puddles the Duck at Light Up Downtown on Friday, Nov. 20,
from 5:15 - 6:30 p.m., at the East Park Block, at East 8th Avenue and Oak Street.
Mayor Piercy and Puddles will
conduct a tree-lighting ceremony.
Live musical entertainment will
be provided by the Sheldon
Dublinaires, University of
Oregon’s (UO) Mind the Gap,
Eugene Concert Choir and Elvis.
Hot cider and popcorn will be
available for all.
The Eugene Symphony will
provide an "instrument petting
zoo,” and little dancers from
Eugene Ballet will be in
attendance to twirl and delight.
The UO’s Cheer Squad will be in
the audience to mingle and add to
the festivities.
Light Up Downtown is produced
by the City of Eugene Cultural
Services and Downtown Eugene
Merchants, in collaboration with Duck Downtown. It is made possible with generous support from SELCO Community
Credit Union, Downtown Eugene Inc., and Republic Parking.
