MovingAhead Open House: Opportunity to Provide Input on Major Eugene Streets
An open house is set for the MovingAhead project, a joint collaboration between the City of Eugene and Lane Transit
District (LTD) that is looking at how to redesign major streets in Eugene to better accommodate all modes of travel,
including transit, walking and biking. Ideas being considered
through MovingAhead include potential changes to both EmX
and regular buses, and improvements to sidewalks and
bikeways that could make it easier to get around the
community.
At the open house people can review the alternatives for
changes to the corridors along Highway 99, River Road,
Coburg Road, 30 Avenue to Lane Community College, and

Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.
The MovingAhead Alternatives Review Open House will be held Monday, Mar. 7, from 5 – 7 p.m., at the Eugene Public
Library, 100 West 10 Avenue. Accessibility arrangements, interpreter, and translation services can be made for all
th
MovingAhead events with 48 hours’ notice. For more information, call 541-682-6100 (voice) or 7-1-1 (TTY).
For those who can’t attend the open house, go to www.movingahead.org to review project materials and provide input.
The online review will be accepted from Mar. 4 - 18.
After confirming the range of alternatives, the MovingAhead team will conduct a more detailed study of the costs,
benefits, and impacts of each alternative. Additional input will be collected from the community before a preferred
alternative is selected for each corridor in fall 2016.

The City of Eugene will publish a Voters’ Pamphlet for the election. Candidates for positions on the City Council and the
Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) who pay a fee and submit a statement and a photograph by the Mar. 8 deadline
will be included in this publication. The Voters’ Pamphlet is scheduled to be mailed to all city addresses by Apr. 25.
