ISSUE STATEMENT
In this work session with executive recruiter the primary focus of the discussion will be the job
description and recruitment brochure for the recruitment of the city manager. Bob Neher, a principal of
the executive recruitment firm of Bennett Yarger, will be present to make the presentation and discuss
related issues.
BACKGROUND
This is will be the third work session with the recruiter. In previous meetings timelines, community
outreach, candidate profile and feedback from various stakeholder groups have been discussed. This is
planned to be the final direct meeting with the recruiter prior to posting the position of city manager. A
follow-up meeting to review the results of the national search will be scheduled sometime in December.
RELATED CITY POLICIES
This item is not directly related to a City policy. However, the hiring of a City Manager is related to the
City Council value of an “Effective, Accountable Municipal Government.”
COUNCIL OPTIONS
The council may approve these documents as presented, make revisions or develop new information.
CITY MANAGER’S RECOMMENDATION
The City Manager has no recommend in this matter.
