ISSUE STATEMENT
This is a public forum to provide the members of the community the opportunity to comment on the
final draft of the candidate profile for the position of City Manager. The City Council must also take
action to formally approve the candidate profile and that action is set for this meeting.
BACKGROUND
In previous work sessions, the City Council has met with the executive recruiter to refine and revise the
candidate profile for the position of City Manager. This will be the final opportunity to hear comments
and review the document prior to posting the position. After the recruitment period is closed, the
executive recruiter will again meet with the City Council to review the results of the national search in
December. Interviews for candidates have been tentatively set for the second week in January 2008.
RELATED CITY POLICIES
This item is not directly related to a City policy. However, the hiring of a city manager is related to the
City Council value of an “Effective, Accountable Municipal Government.”

The council may approve this document as presented, make revisions or develop new information.
