COUNCILORS ABSENT: Bonny Bettman, George Poling. A. BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS INTERVIEWS The council interviewed applicants for positions on the City’s Sustainability Commission. Those inter- viewed were William Klausmeier, Katherine Moyer, Tim Laue, Greg Youngquist, Will Shaver, Lynn Rodrick, Fred Lea, Joseph Varner, Clayton Gauiter, Lorraine Kerword, Dawn Lesley, and Bob Cassidy. Each applicant was asked the following questions: 1. What prompted you to apply for the Sustainability Commission? Based on what you know about the role of the commission, what do you consider are the most important skills you bring to help the commission be successful? 2. Please tell us about any experience you have had working collectively with a group. 3. What do you consider are the most important issues to address in Eugene to enable the com- munity to become sustainable? 4. How can the Sustainability Commission be most effective in its role as a policy advisory body to the City Council? 5. Please share your views on how the Sustainability Commission can foster involvement of the whole community in long-range changes to become more sustainable. Mr. Pryor thanked each candidate and indicated the council would be making a decision on the candidates to be selected on October 22, 2007. He invited candidates to watch the meeting on their computers or televisions.
