Her Honor Mayor Kitty Piercy called the meeting of the Eugene City Council to order.
1. EXECUTIVE SESSION:
Interviews of Candidates for City Manager
Pursuant to Oregon Revised Statute 199.660(2)(a), the Eugene City Council met in executive session.
The meeting adjourned at 8:08 p.m.

COUNCILORS PRESENT: Andrea Ortiz, Chris Pryor, Betty Taylor, Bonny Bettman, Jennifer
Solomon, George Poling, Mike Clark, Alan Zelenka.
Her Honor Mayor Kitty Piercy called the meeting of the Eugene City Council to order.
1. WORK SESSION:
Selection of City Manager Candidate
Mr. Pryor, seconded by Ms. Bettman, moved that the council forward an offer to Jon Ruiz
contingent upon a successful salary negotiation and a successful reference and background
check.
Ms. Ortiz indicated that she would vote in the affirmative but that was not a guarantee she would vote for
him when the council reached the point of hiring Mr. Ruiz.
Mr. Zelenka said if the motion passed, it was a “done deal.”
The motion passed, 5:3; Ms. Taylor, Ms. Bettman, and Ms. Ortiz voting no.
The meeting adjourned at 8:12 p.m.
