HomeMy WebLinkAboutAdmin Order 58-00-20 ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 58-00-20 of the Executive Director (AIC) of the Public Works Department Delegating Authority to Administer the City's Stormwater, Erosion Prevention, and Open Waterway Programs of Sections 6.600 to 6.610, 6.625 to 6.645, and 6.650 to 6.670 of the Eugene Code, 1971 and Rules Issued Thereunder to the City Engineer. The Executive Director (AIC) of the Public Works Department of the City of Eugene finds that: A. By Administrative Order No. 53-96-09 dated July 2, 1996, authority to perform the duties and responsibilities of the City Manager under Chapter 6 of the Eugene Code, 1971, was delegated jointly to the Executive Directors of the City's Planning & Development Department and Public Works Department. B. The activities to which the stormwater, erosion prevention, and open waterway programs of Sections 6.600 to 6.610, 6.625 to 6.645, and 6.650 to 6.670 of the Eugene Code, 1971 apply are supervised by the City Engineer and it would be more efficient and in the public interest to authorize the City Engineer of the Public Works Department to perform the delegated duties with respect to those programs. Now, therefore, based on the above findings, which are hereby adopted, The Executive Director (AIC) of the Public Works Department of the City of Eugene Orders that: 1. The duties, responsibilities and authority delegated by the City Manager jointly to the Executive Directors of the City's Planning & Development Department and Public Works Department to perform the duties and responsibilities of the City Manager in administering the provisions of Chapter 6 of the Eugene Code, 1971, are hereby delegated to the City Engineer with respect to the City's stormwater, erosion prevention, and open waterway programs of Sections 6.600 to 6.610, 6.625 to 6.645, and 6.650 to 6.670 of the Eugene Code, 1971, and any Rules issued thereunder. 2. Upon finding it would be more efficient and in the public interest to do so, the City Engineer is specifically authorized to in turn delegate any of the duties or responsibilities delegated herein to such person or persons qualified to perform the delegated duties. 3. The delegation of authority to the City Engineer contained herein shall be construed Administrative Order - 1 r:\adminord\adm\OOstrmeroswatdel. wpd(08/0 1/00) to extend to and include any person "acting in capacity" (AIC) for the City Engineer.
