ISSUE STATEMENT
This work session is an opportunity for the council to receive a summary of findings from a recent
survey generally related to street repairs and several potential options for funding repairs.
BACKGROUND
The Strategy Research Institute (SRI) in June 2008, was contracted to provide a needs analysis and
feasibility study on issues related to street repairs. A survey was conducted in early July. Dr. Gary
Manross, Ph.D., chairman of SRI, will attend the work session and make a brief presentation on the
findings and answer any questions the council may have.
RELATED CITY POLICIES
The council’s goals for 2007 include “Transportation Initiative: Develop mechanisms to adequately
fund our transportation system for cars, trucks, bikes and pedestrians including maintenance and
preservation and capital reconstruction.”

The presentation is being provided to the council as an information item. No action is required.
