Home My WebLink AboutORDINANCE NO. 8682I nn ~~ V .I I ORDINANCE N0. 8682 An Ordinance establishing the cost and apportioning it to the various properties outside the City of Eugene of that certain sanitary sewer running from the city limits West on Second Avenue to Garfield Street. li WHEF.EAS, heretofore the City of Eugene under an agreement with the ' Eugene Plywood Company apportioning the cost, constructed an eight inch sanitary, sewer connecting with the city sewer system from~the city limits tiVest to Garfield Street, and ~'JHEREAS, under the terms of the agreement between the city and the Euge Plywood Company , the following costs were incurred: Plywood contribution 1129.50 City " 1750.04 Total X2879.54 and i WHEREAS, various property owners living along the line of said sewer on Second Avenue UJest have made application to the city to make sanitary conn- ection with said sewer and be permitted to discharge their domestic sewage into ~ the city system, and WHEREAS, the City of Eugene has made a standing rule adopted by the Coun- cil that an annual charge for residents for connecting with the city sewer by those living outside the city limits shall be made of 5.00; Therefore, THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOV~JS: Section 1. The Common Council of the City of Eugene does hereby '~I determine that the total cost of constructing that certain sewer on Second ~! Avenue ti'Jest from the city li~:its to Garfield Street is the sum of 2879.54, of it which the Eugene Plywood Company has contributed y~1129.50 and the City of Eugene 1750.04, and the Common Council does deem and determine that such cost is the 'I reasonable and actual cost of the construction of said sewer. Section 2. That the Common ~'ouncil of the City of Eugene does hereby determine and assess to each lot, part of lat or acreage property benefitted by said improvement to be as follows, each lot and part of lot herein described being beyond the city limits of the City of Eugene, to-wit: SECOND AVENUE SEWER 14.94 Ply J. 4V. and Julie M. That the Common Council of the City of Eugene does hereby determine that each parcel of land or lot hereinbefore descs°ibed, in case it makes connection with said sewer, is specifically benefitted to the extent of the assess went and apportionment hereinbef ore set out and does hereby declare that each of said properties before connecting with said sewer shall be obliged to pay to the City of Eugene for distribution as shown in the above statement, the sum set opposite said property, or shall make such provisions for a lien upon said propert as shall seem suitable and safe for the City of Eugene. Section 4. That in order that a working record of said apportionments and assessments may be a~railable for the City Recorder, the City Recorder is directed to enter in the Docket of~City Liens a statement thereof, containing: First: A description of each lot, part of lot or acreage property liable for such improvement. ~~2 -- - _- --- ---- - --__=-- _ _ _ _ r _ _, Second: The name of the owner or reputed owner thereof, or that the name of the owner is unknown. Third: The sum assessed upon said property and the date of entering the ' same in the said docket of city liens. and in each instance shall indicate on said docket that such sum shall become a lien upon said premises only when application is made for connection with the sewer and suitable arrangements made with the city for its security.
