ORDINANCE 8694
An Ordinance amending Section 3 of Ordinance No. 8413 entitled:
AN ORDINANCE To create or divide the City into Districts
within some of which it shall be lawful, and within others
of which it shall be unlawful to erect, construct, alter
or maintain certain buildings, or to carry on certain
trades or callings, or within which the height and bulk
of future buildings shall be limited, and providing for
setback lines, and providing for a penalty for the

passed by the Common Council April 8, 1935 and approved by the Mayor, April 9,
1935, by dividing "R-2 MULTIPLE FAIdILY RESIDENCE DISTRICTS!' into "Apartment House
Districts" and"Four Family Multiple Residence Districts."
THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Section 3 of Orditianee No. 8413 entitled:

of which it shall be unlawful to erect, construct, alter
or maintain cert8:in buildings, or to carry on certain
trades or callings, or within which the height and bulk
of future buildings shall be limited, and providing for
setback lines, and .providing for a penalty for the
violation thereof.
passed by the Common Council April 8, 1935 and approved by the Mayor, April 9,
1935, be and the same is hereby amended and subdivided into Section 3a and Section
3b as follows:
Section 3a. MULTIPLE FATa7ILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT.
In a multiple family residence district no building
or premises shall be used and no buildings shall be
erected which is arranged, intended or designed to be
used for any purpose excepting a family residence use
up to four occupancies with its usual accessories
arranged, intended and designed for residence purposes.
Section 3b. APARTIv1ENT HOUSE DISTRICT:
In an apartment house district no building or premises
shall be used and no buildings shall be erected which is
arranged, intended or designed to be used for any pur-
l pose excepting a family residence use up to four occupancies
with its usual accessories arranged, intended or designed
for residence purposes, and in addition thereto, hospitals,
educational or philanthropic institutions, fraternities,
tenements, falts, boarding houses. lodging houses, clubs,
apartment houses and hotels without stores, assembly
halls, churchs, public or private schools, mortuaries,
sanitarium, private hospitals, or other instiutions for
the treatment of disease.
