1 `7 5- <br />ORDINANCE N0. 8738 <br />An Ordinance amending Section 5 of Ordinance No. 8265 entitled: <br />"An Ordinance providing for the disposal of garbage, defining <br />garbage, providing regulations for the manner of disposal, pr~.ces to be charged, <br />requiring a license and bond, and generally regulating the collection and removal <br />of garbage in the City of Eugene, repealing former ordinances and declaring an <br />emergency." <br />by changing the residential rate to 65¢ and increasing all commercial rates 20f. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOtir~S: <br />Section 1. That Section 5 of Ordinance No. 8265 entitled: <br />"An Ordinance providing for the disposal of garbage, defining garbage, <br />providing regu~tions for the manner of disposal, prices to be charged, requiring <br />a license and bond, and generally regulating the collection and removal of <br />garbage in the City of Eugene, repealing former ordinances and declaring an <br />emergency." <br />passed by the Common Council Au~;ust 24, 1931 and approved by the Iv~ayor August 24, <br />1931, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"Section 5: The rates to be charged all persons, firms or corporations <br />shall be reasonable and unif orm, taking into consideration the service rendered, <br />and shall not be in excess of the following schedule: <br />Resid ences, ~ .65 per month <br />As to all commercial service, <br />20~ in addition to the following <br />schedule: <br />Stores, X1.00 to X10.00 per month <br />feat Markets, X1.50 to 4,5.00 " " <br />Garages 1.50 to x'7.00 " " <br />Apartment Houses, ~.OO to 10.00 " <br />Wholesale houses, 2.00 to X10.00 ~+ " <br />Ha rdware Stores, '2.00 to 5.00 <br />Service Stations, 1.00 to y~5.00 " <br />Restaurants a.~d hotels that <br />separate garbage, 1.00 to X5.00 }' ~T <br />Others, 2.00 to x'5.00 <br />Fruit Stores,, 2.00 to 10.00 " <br />Candy stores, 1.50 to 5.00 ~" <br />Blacksmiths, 2.00 to X5.00 " " <br />Schools, 1.50 " " <br />Railroad companies 5.00 " " <br />Hauling brush, 4.00 per load <br />Removal of large quantities of <br />ashes ~ 5.00 " " <br />Hauling away dead dog or cat, .50 to ``1.00 each <br />Other than above, .50 to 10.00 per month <br />Manufacturing plants and factories Reasonable fee based on <br /> foregoing schedules. <br /> .50 each. <br />Caring for old automobiles at dump .50 each. <br />Passed by the Common Council Approved by the Mayor this <br />this 23rd day of March, 1942. 24th day of March, 1942. <br />/s/ JOHN FIELDS /s/ ELISHA LARGE <br />City Recorder Yro Tdm Mayor <br />
