An Ordinance prohibiting the purchase or acquisition or concealment of
stolen or fraudulently acquired property.

THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLL04+~S:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful in the City of Eugene for any person,
firm, or corporation to buy receive or conceal or attempt to conceal any property.
which he knows or has good reason to believe has been stolen or acquired
fraudulently or dishonestly. I
Section 2. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions
of this ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less than `+ 5.00 and not

exceeding the sum of N200.00, and shall be imprisoned in the city jail one day ~ ~
for each two dollars of such fine unpaid.
Section 3. Itlhereas stolen goods are being vended in various second-hand 1
shops, pawn brokers- shops, and junk shops in the city of Eugene and the polies ~
authorities are unable to cope with the situation until given ~uthori.ty to do so
by suitable ordinance, it is therefore declared that an emergency exists and that
it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the peace, health and safety
of the city of Eugene that this ordinance take effect immediately upon its passage
by the Common Council and its approval by the Mayor and it is so ordered. `
